Dancing After 1AM - Kyushu release tour January 2013

One of the notable features of the Dancing After 1AM compilation was that it was well supported by artists from Kyushu, with five bands in total from the westernmost of Japan's main islands contributing tracks. As a result, in January we're bringing the noise and doing a short release tour in Kyushu.

There are three dates, although the lineups are still to be decided:

"Dancing After 1AM" compilation album update

Call And Responseによる新たなコンピレーションCDDancing After 1AM」は予定通り、リリースに向けて制作進行中!
徐々に音源も集まってきてまして、早速Pop OfficeAnisakisPuffyshoesShe Talks Silenceの素晴らしい完成版トラックが到着しました!
Work on Call And Response's new "Dancing After 1AM" compilation is ongoing, and parts of it are starting to come together. Excellent tracks from Pop Office, Anisakis, Puffyshoes and She Talks Silence have already been delivered with more currently being mixed.



また、熊本からcynicalsmileisyourfavorite小林どろり、東京からはMirスロウマリコ もコンピ参加決定!
さらに、鹿児島からアングラ・スーパーグループの経立(Lubic Cave House、Wood、地盤沈下のメンバーによるバンド)や、東京シンセパンクトリオのJebiotto!の音源も収録されます。経立とJebiotto!はコンピリリースパーティーにも参加します。
In addition to the bands already announced, cynicalsmileisyourfavorite and Kobayashi Dorori from Kumamoto will feature, as well as Mir and Slow-Marico from Tokyo. Kagoshima underground supergroup Futtachi (featuring members of Lubic Cave House, Wood and Zibanchinka) are also taking part, as are Tokyo synth-punk trio Jebiotto!, both of whom will play the album release party at Higashi-Koenji 20000V on October 6th.

Kyushu x Nagoya Electric Pop Festival (June 2nd-3rd 2012)

Call And Response Records has been organizing the Kyushu Pop Festival at Shinjuku Motion for the past three years, but this year, with the help of fellow event organizers Style Band Tokyo and Teenage Riot the event has expanded into a two-day alternative/postpunk/no wave music festival bringing in some of the best bands from Nagoya as well as some fantastic local Tokyo bands.

Call And Response bands with Bo Ningen in Kyushu

This coming weekend, UK-based psychedelic rock quartet Bo Ningen are on a short three-date tour of Kyushu, with Call And Response bands Zibanchinka and Hyacca supporting them on all dates, along with some other good friends of the label.

Zibanchinka Kyushu Tour (November 18th-20th 2011)

Zibanchinka are embarking on a three-day mini-tour of Kyushu from the 18th to the 20th of November, playing alongside a few Call And Response favourites, with me joining them as a DJ for the first couple of shows, and Nagoya's Sekaitekina Band will join us for the Fukuoka show.

Kyushu Pop Festival 2011

After the success of last year's Kyushu Pop Festival, Call And Response Records is very happy to present another evening of mentai-rock, kurobuta-punk and kabosu-pop, now with added basashi-disco.

All bands at this event are either travelling down from Kyushu for the show (the event features bands from Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Kagoshima), or they are Tokyo-based bands with key members hailing from Kyushu.
